Hello to all,
We hope finds you all well and staying safe, healthy and positive. It has been an extremely difficult time that we have been going through, both individually and as sport organizers and/or participants, over the past 9 months. We are very fortunate to live in Atlantic Canada, as we are one of the safest places in the World from the Coronavirus.Because of our extremely low case numbers, some sports organizations, were able to conduct leagues and competitions for their participants. This was a huge plus, for our youth, adults and families, during this past Summer and Fall. With that being said, two of our East Coast Games Sport Directors were recently recognized, by Sport New Brunswick, for their outstanding contributions to their individual sport.
Kelly Lynch ( K.V. Girls Softball) received “ The Spirit of Sport Award” and Kapil Choudhary ( Saint John Cricket Club) for the “Administrator Sport Award”. Congratulations to both of these very deserving recipients, we are very fortunate to have such outstanding individuals as part of our East Coast Games Committee.
Over the past 6 months, our Executive Committee, have been in communication on plans for the 2021 Games. We are still looking at the 3rd week of June, if all goes well with health and provincial guidelines in the Maritimes in the coming months. Over course, things can change very quickly, but we will cross that bridge, if and when we have to.
We would very much appreciate, if you could get back to us, on your interest In participating in the 2021 Games and
how many venues you might need to accommodate your event. Also, how many participants, teams, age groups and number of days that your event requires.
Finally, we would personally like to thank each and every one of you for all that you do for your sports, from organizing , coaching, and promoting. Our community and region is extremely fortunate to have such an excellent group of sport volunteers.
Wishing you all a safe and healthy Holiday season.
Yours in Sport,
Dave, Bill , Keith, Brad and Nathan

**Urgent Message**
Amid the ever-changing landscape of the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have decided to reevaluate the East Coast Games in June. With the news about the Canadian Olympic Committee deciding to not send Canadian teams to the Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer, we had to make a decision on holding the games this year. At this time, given the circumstances, we have made the decision to cancel the 2020 East Coast Games in Saint John.
This was not an easy decision but our number one priority is the health and safety of all those involved with the games including athletes, spectators, volunteers, and organizers. Social distancing will be recommended for the coming months, meaning It would be very difficult to put on our event with so many athletes and spectators. The East Coast Games Board of Directors pride ourselves and our tournament directors on delivering a high-quality event that has become Atlantic Canada’s largest annual multi-sport tournament. Planning capabilities of our organizers have been lowered by distancing and we will not have the opportunity to provide you with the best quality event we can for 2020.
Remember to stay informed and react appropriately to all of the recommendations given to us by our government and health care professionals. The more we practice social distancing and washing our hands, the sooner this will all be over.
All the best,

In consideration to the recent outbreak of COVID-19, the East Coast Games Board of Directors have made the decision to re-evaluate the 2020 Games in mid April. At this time, given the circumstances we will make the decision if the Games will go on or if they will be cancelled until 2021. Some of the things that will be taken in to consideration is the planning capabilities of our organizers, the possible lack training of all of the teams and athletes, the quality of tournaments we will be able to provide and the overall health risks of everyone involved.
This decision will not be easy should it have to be made but our number one priority is the health and safety of all those involved with the East Coast Games. We’ll be in touch with you all soon. In the mean time, remember to stay informed and react appropriately to all of the recommendations given to us by our government and health care professionals. The more we practice social distancing, the sooner this will all be over.
All the best,
Your East Coast Games Board of Directors ... See MoreSee Less
